Phil's Crispy Greens (PCG) LLC, situated in South Berwick, Maine, specializes in fresh produce and nutritious microgreens, which are renowned for their robust health advantages and delectable taste. Phil Sutton didn’t grow up dreaming of becoming a farmer. As a veteran and a firefighter paramedic with over 20 years of service, he spent his life saving others. But in the heart of Maine, surrounded by nature’s beauty, Phil discovered a passion for sustainable farming. Today, he runs Phil’s Crispy Greens and Maine Black Garlic Company, cultivating flavorful, artisan products rooted in Maine’s unique climate. Every product produced at PCG carries the essence of Maine winters—bold, sweet, and uncompromising.

We provide weekly local deliveries of our freshest products to homes, workplaces, juice bars, health food stores, and restaurants. Introducing living foods into your daily meals can enhance their nutritional value and promote better health. You can incorporate our products into your salads, sandwiches, and wraps, or use them in your cooked dishes, such as stir-fries and soups, after taking them off heat. Sustainable and Locally Grown
Microgreens are grown using more sustainable methods than conventional farming techniques, which entail reduced water usage and elimination of fertilizers and pesticides. As a result, microgreens are a safe and healthy vegetable option. Moreover, we utilize a grow substrate that is composted by our hens, thereby producing organic farm-fresh eggs and exceptional garden compost. By sourcing our food locally, we minimize transportation pollution and foster a more resilient local community.
A Smart and Economical Food Choice
When selecting food for your family, finding the ideal balance between nutrition and affordability can be challenging. A blend of Broccoli, Kale, and Cabbage microgreens, weighing one ounce, contains the same amount of nutrients as 1.5 pounds of adult broccoli. The cost of microgreens can range from $1.50 to $3.00 per ounce, while a bag of spinach may cost between $0.40 and $0.80 per ounce. Spinach microgreens provide 5-40 times more nutrients than mature leaves. Thus, although you may pay three times more per ounce of microgreens, you receive ten times the nutritional value. This comparison applies to most of the microgreens.
